TRV International Airport records 10% passenger growth

Trivandrum: Thiruvananthapuram International (TRV) Airport, managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited, has seen a 10% surge in passenger traffic during the last financial year. As per a press release, between 01 April 2024 and 31 March 2025, TRV Airport saw 48,90,452 passengers, marking a 10 per cent increase compared to 44,11,235 travellers in the preceding financial year.

This growth trajectory underscores Thiruvananthapuram’s importance as a destination for travellers from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The analysis reveals a robust domestic sector, with over 2.59 million domestic passengers, complemented by a strong growth in international passengers, with over 2.29 million passengers connecting from Thiruvananthapuram to global destinations.

The airport recorded its highest-ever passenger and aircraft traffic movements on 22 December 2024, serving 16,578 passengers with 101 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs). This peak surpassed the previous record of 15,193 passengers and 95 aircraft movements on 29 January 2024, highlighting the airport’s capacity to handle significant surges in demand.

TRV currently serves an average of 14,614 passengers daily, with an average of 86 ATMs, including charter movements, connecting Thiruvananthapuram to over 9 domestic and 14 international destinations. The airport handled 33,316 aircraft in FY 24-25, a considerable rise from the 31,342 ATMs in FY 23-24. This enhanced operational capacity is a direct result of strategic infrastructure investments.

Recognising the need to match growing demand with world-class facilities, TRV Airport has embarked on a comprehensive programme of infrastructure and technology upgrades over the past year. These enhancements are designed to streamline processes, enhance passenger comfort, and ensure operational excellence. Beyond these core operational improvements, TRV Airport has also focused on elevating the overall passenger experience through a range of amenities.
